UAE's Efforts In Promoting Human Rights Regionally, Internationally Recognised

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has garnered international acclaim for its steadfast commitment to promoting and protecting human rights. A significant testament to this dedication is the UAE's election to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) for the 2022-2024 term, marking the third time the nation has secured a seat on this esteemed council. This achievement underscores the global community's recognition of the UAE's efforts in upholding human rights standards. 

Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, the Diplomatic Advisor to the UAE President and Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee, emphasized that this accomplishment reflects international acclaim for the UAE's crucial work in bolstering human rights. He highlighted the nation's proactive approach in implementing policies and initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for all its residents. 

Over the past years, the UAE has enacted a series of federal laws to promote human rights, including the Anti-Discriminatory Law, the Wadeema Act on children's rights, and the Domestic Labour Law. These legislative measures aim to protect individuals from discrimination, safeguard children's rights, and ensure fair treatment for domestic workers, reflecting the UAE's comprehensive approach to human rights. 

The UAE's commitment extends beyond its borders, as it actively engages in international dialogues to promote human rights. By fostering cooperation and constructive discussions among member states, the UAE aims to achieve a common vision where human rights are respected and upheld worldwide. This proactive stance underscores the nation's role as a responsible global actor dedicated to the advancement of human rights on the international stage.
