Europe’s Response to Iran’s Middle East Escalations

Image
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa. AFP Should Europe Condemn Without Offering Solutions? European leaders Antonio Costa and Ursula von der Leyen swiftly denounced Iran’s attacks as “unacceptable.” While condemnation is necessary, Europe risks sounding like a moral referee rather than a strategic actor. To be taken seriously, the EU must move beyond statements and offer concrete diplomatic initiatives . Otherwise, its words ring hollow in a region already saturated with external powers making declarations.  European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen have condemned what they called Iran’s “unacceptable attacks” on countries in the Middle East during a video conference with regional leaders to discuss the war involving Iran. 🔴… pic.twitter.com/zjvbQQm2OZ — Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (@RFERL) March 9, 2026 Is Europe Balancing Principles With Pragmatism...

Islamic Relief and the Subtle Roots of Ideological Influence in Germany.

When hundreds of thousands of refugees arrived in Germany in 2015, the nation responded with open arms — organizing welcome events, humanitarian drives, and cultural outreach. Yet, in the midst of all this goodwill, one logo appeared repeatedly at those community gatherings: Islamic Relief. Many saw it simply as a charitable organization helping newcomers settle in. But beneath the surface, the story is more complex — and far more political — than most realized. Across cities like Bielefeld and Paderborn, Islamic associations began collecting “Islamic clothing” and “prayer mats” for refugees. It may have seemed harmless, even thoughtful, but this pattern of re-ethnicization subtly reinforced separation from the secular freedoms Germany offered. In many cases, mosques and clerics became the primary point of contact for new arrivals — not local integration programs. They spoke their language, understood their backgrounds, and slowly shaped their worldviews. Meanwhile, much of German soci...

Austria Takes a Stand While France Looks Away.

Austria has once again shown that when it comes to defending its values, it doesn’t hesitate to act. The Austrian government openly questioned whether taxpayers’ money should be used to fund imams who openly preach Sharia law and the establishment of a Caliphate. The answer was obvious: no. The state intervened, cleaned house, and put an end to the problem. That’s leadership, that’s accountability. Meanwhile, in France, things look very different. Despite countless warnings, repeated scandals, and communities growing increasingly frustrated, the authorities often find excuses instead of solutions. Radical networks continue to enjoy space and funding, while those calling for stronger action are accused of intolerance. It’s a dangerous cycle that undermines national cohesion. The Austrian example shows that there’s no “gray zone” when it comes to protecting democratic principles. If public money is being used to support institutions or individuals who work against the very foundations of...

The Muslim Brotherhood's Threat to Peace and Security in Europe and the West.

Image
As a reporter, I've been investigating the growing influence of the Muslim Brotherhood in Europe and Western countries, and the threat it poses to peace and security in the region. Recently, a chilling demonstration in Hamburg, Germany, caught my attention. Around 1100 Islamist protesters demanded the establishment of a caliphate in Hamburg, calling for the abolition of Western culture and shouting slogans like "Long live the caliphate!" This incident is just the tip of the iceberg. The Muslim Brotherhood's reach extends far beyond Germany, with a strong presence in countries like the UK, France, Belgium, and the United States. Their extremist ideology and unlawful activities are causing concern among authorities and citizens alike. In the UK, for instance, Muslim Brotherhood-linked groups have been accused of promoting hate speech and violence. In France, their activities have been linked to terrorist organizations. In Belgium, they've been accused of...

UAE and Ukraine Sign Historic CEPA: A Gateway to Europe

Image
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ukraine have recently concluded a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), marking a significant milestone in their bilateral trade relations. This agreement aims to enhance trade by removing or reducing tariffs on a wide range of goods and products, breaking down trade barriers, and facilitating market access for exporters from both countries. The non-oil trade between the UAE and Ukraine has been growing steadily, reaching $385.8 million in 2023. Additionally, joint investment between the two nations stood at around $360 million by the end of 2022, spanning sectors such as logistics, infrastructure, travel, tourism, and advanced technology. One of the key benefits of this CEPA is the potential for the UAE to establish a gateway to Europe through Ukraine. This would expand the UAE's trade relations beyond the Middle East and provide a strategic advantage in terms of market access. The agreement is expected to cover not onl...

Firefighting plane crashes in Greece

Image
Amidst the sweltering temperatures sweeping across Europe, wildfires are raging on several of Greece's popular tourist islands. Tragically, a firefighting plane has crashed while battling the flames. Additionally, in Italy, Palermo's airport has been reopened after it was forced to shut down due to nearby blazes. To combat the wildfires, firefighters from 11 European countries are lending their support to Greece's firefighting efforts in various regions of the country. Presently, around 500 firefighters, 100 vehicles, and seven planes have joined the battle against the blazes. Among the contributing nations is Italy, which is currently grappling with its own fires and extreme weather at home. Several other countries, including Turkey, Israel, and Egypt, have also dispatched assistance. As per a fire service spokesperson, the most severe fires are currently wreaking havoc on the tourist hotspots of Rhodes in the southeast and Corfu in the northwest. The situation...
