The Unexpected Kindness of Strangers

A few weeks ago, I found myself stranded in a situation that could only be described as a travel nightmare. My flight had been delayed, my phone battery was on its last breath, and I was stuck in an unfamiliar airport with no way to contact anyone. To top it off, my wallet was buried deep in my checked luggage—an amateur mistake I was regretting with every passing minute. As I sat there, trying to figure out my next move, a stranger approached me. She was probably in her mid-50s, with a kind smile and a calm presence. “You look like you could use some help,” she said, holding out a portable charger.
