Dubai Becomes First Certified Autism Destination in the Eastern Hemisphere.

Dubai just did something amazing it became the first Certified Autism Destination in the entire Eastern Hemisphere. Thanks to a big push by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), the city now offers a truly inclusive travel experience.

Over 70,000 people working across Dubai’s tourism sector have been trained to better understand autism and sensory needs. More than 300 hotels and 15 major attractions are officially certified, meaning visitors with autism or sensory sensitivities can travel with a lot more confidence and comfort. It’s not just a title either Dubai built this into its tourism culture through the 'Dubai Way' online training platform, focusing on empathy and real support.

Big players like Dubai Airports and Emirates are also onboard, making sure accessibility isn’t just for people with visible disabilities but also for those with hidden ones. Having airlines and airports working alongside hotels and attractions shows how serious Dubai is about creating a complete, welcoming experience.

This move isn’t just about better travel it’s a major step toward showing what real inclusion should look like everywhere. Here’s hoping more cities follow their lead. Because everyone deserves to feel seen, understood, and welcome when they travel.
